About Me My name is Michael Rochester and I live in Eagle Lake, Maine. I am a licensed forester and work as a consultant out my home office. I have many years of experience in the forest industry. I have an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine. I earned Dean's list recognition many times during my studies and was awarded the "Math/Science Award" for my graduating class. I took and passed the Professional Forester exam administered by the state of Maine in 1993. Years previous to this I worked as a forest technician for a forest management company. Early in my career, I thinned woodlots and tree farms and pruned trees. I also owned and operated a skidder and harvested timber. I worked in a family owned Christmas tree operation that harvested 10000+ trees some years. My forest management experience is quite extensive. I have worked with cost-share programs for at least 30 years. I currently manage woodlands for various landowners. Some are small lots and some consist of thousands of acres. I have also supervised the removal of over 100,000 cords of wood. I have utilized every type of harvesting method that can be used. I would also be happy to answer any questions that you may have for me. I built this website as an extension of my forestry service. I have tried to include a wide variety of forestry related topics.
