Farm Bill Informational Meetings A series of meetings were held to help educate landowners about the forestry aspects of the 2008 Farm Bill. It was hosted by the Soil Conservation Service, Maine Forest Service, NRCS, and others. The sessions provided highlights and details about programs such the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP). The different agencies answered questions to help landowners, consulting foresters, and land managers determine the next step toward good stewardship of their land and how the programs can help. Programs that are available to assist landowners include woodland improvement programs such as thinning operations or pruning. There are other programs also.
