Increases in oil prices, food, medical, and everything else is putting a squeeze on Maine consumers.  Now property taxes are increasing as well.  As towns reassess their properties, some residents are getting shocking new tax bills.  This section will report the valuation of forested property as well as the mill rate for towns in northern Maine.  I will add more towns soon.

Eagle Lake: $330/ac,  Mill rate:   .1715 .

Fort Kent: 6 - 50 acres: $500/ac., 51+ acres: $300/ac., Mill rate: .1433

Frenchville: $135/ac., Mill rate: .1875

Madawaska: $150/ac (undergoing reevaluation - get ready).

Winterville: $500/ac.
